What is it?
The T79 Series is a line of smart electronic transmitters offering a 4–20 mA output combined with HART® digital communication. Each sensor is individually calibrated together with its own seal, ensuring reliable accuracy and long-term stability under varied conditions. These transmitters are designed to measure pressure, vacuum, and level, accommodating a wide range of process needs in different sectors.
Where is it used?
T79 units find application in industrial settings, marine and offshore installations, and environments where process reliability is critical. Typical use cases include chemical plants, oil & gas facilities, pharmaceutical production, water treatment works, food-processing plants, as well as marine and shipboard systems. Because of their versatile measurement capabilities and robust design, they suit both standard and demanding environments, even those with potentially explosive atmospheres.
How does it work?
The T79 transmitter uses a sensor (with membrane or diaphragm) to detect pressure, vacuum or hydrostatic level. The measured value is converted into a standard 4–20 mA analog signal, while HART® protocol enables digital communication for configuration, diagnostics, and remote reading. Configuration can be done locally via built-in display and buttons or remotely using a HART-compatible communicator. The device can be mounted directly on a pipe or tank. For remote-sensor variants (with remote seal or capillary), a mounting bracket is supplied for either wall mounting or 2″ stand-pipe installation.
What problems does it solve?
The T79 addresses several key challenges in industrial processes. It delivers accurate and stable measurements of pressure, vacuum, and level, which are essential for process safety and efficient operation. With its combination of a 4–20 mA analog output and HART communication, it enables flexible monitoring and diagnostics, simplifying maintenance and reducing the risk of downtime. Because each sensor is individually calibrated with its own seal, measurements remain reliable even under changing process conditions. The design supports both direct and remote installation, making it suitable for complex or hard-to-reach locations. In addition, the T79 covers multiple measurement applications within a single product family, simplifying selection and reducing the need for multiple transmitter types.
