What is it?
The 27A Series is a family of compact electronic transmitters built to measure level, pressure, or vacuum, depending on model and configuration. Each transmitter is designed with analog electronics encapsulated within a small housing (typical diameter about 27 mm), making it a versatile, lightweight instrument suited for a wide range of measurement tasks.
Where is it used?
These transmitters are suitable for both industrial and marine applications. They can be used to monitor pressure, vacuum or fluid level in pipelines, tanks, vessels or vapour systems, whether the medium is liquid, gas, or vapor. The 27A units are commonly installed directly on a process pipe or on a mating flange; for remote sensor versions (or when remote seal + capillary setups are used), a stainless-steel bracket is provided for wall mounting or for installation on a 2″ standpipe.
How does it work?
Depending on the version, the 27A uses either a piezoresistive or ceramic sensor to sense pressure or vacuum. The internal sensor converts the pressure/vacuum (or level when configured appropriately) into an electrical signal. Based on wiring mode the transmitter can output either a 4–20 mA signal (2-wire) or a 0–5 / 0–10 V signal (3-wire), allowing easy integration with control systems. Zero and span can be adjusted (when supported) within ±10%, giving flexibility on site.
What problems does it solve?
The 27A Series solves the need for compact, reliable instrumentation for pressure, vacuum, or level measurement, especially in systems where space is limited or where robustness is required (such as marine or industrial settings). Because of its small footprint, flexible mounting options (direct on pipe, flange, or remote sensor with bracket), and stable analogue output, it provides a dependable solution for monitoring fluid/gas pressure or level, vacuum, or overpressure conditions. This helps with process control, safety, and compliance in a broad range of applications.
