What is it?
The HMI Series is an industrial touch-panel control unit designed to monitor and manage data coming from HART® transmitters. It acts as a central interface where operators can view measured variables, configure connected instruments, and handle alarms. It includes an 8" color touchscreen, local buttons, a rugged stainless-steel chassis, and built-in software for visualization and device management.
Where is it used?
The HMI is used in marine and industrial environments where multiple tanks or process instruments must be supervised from a central location. Typical applications include tank level monitoring on ships, multi-channel alarm systems, and process control rooms. It is also suitable for facilities requiring remote supervision of HART® networks or integrated alarm handling.
How does it work?
The panel communicates with up to 30 HART® transmitters through two multidrop buses and can also read up to 16 On/Off inputs. It collects measurement data, displays it on the touchscreen, logs events, manages alarms, and allows configuration of connected sensors. Data can be accessed locally or remotely via LAN, and the system operates through embedded software running on an AMD-based industrial PC.
What problems does it solve?
The HMI eliminates the need for multiple separate indicators or alarm panels by centralizing monitoring, configuration, and data logging into one device. It simplifies management of large sensor networks, reduces wiring complexity, and provides remote access for diagnostics and control. It also improves operational safety by offering clear visual alarm handling and reliable HART® communication across multiple instruments.
