What is it?
The Sensitron MULTISCAN 8+ is a gas detection controller designed to monitor toxic and combustible gases in industrial environments. The system supports up to 24 gas detectors, with 8 detectors connectable directly via 4-20 mA signals, and can be expanded with optional modules. The controller features a clear LCD display and offers flexible configuration options for various applications.
How does it work?
The MULTISCAN 8+ collects signals from connected gas detectors and processes them centrally. Each detector can be individually configured with alarm thresholds and responses. When dangerous gas concentrations are detected, the system activates alarms on the display and switches relay outputs to control ventilation or initiate emergency shutdowns. Communication with building management systems (BMS) or PLCs is via Modbus RTU/RS-485. The unit performs self-tests and issues fault notifications to ensure reliability.
