What is it?
The Tyco T1216-C is a conventional fire alarm panel specifically designed for marine applications. The panel supports up to 16 zones and is engineered to provide reliable fire detection and alarm signaling on board ships. It complies with strict maritime and European standards and is approved by major maritime certification authorities. This panel can be mounted either as a console or a wall unit and comes pre-configured for immediate use. It features an integrated serial output for the Voyage Data Recorder (VDR), allowing easy integration of the fire alarm and detection system with other shipboard systems.
How does it work?
The system continuously monitors all connected zones for signs of fire through conventional smoke and heat detectors. When a fire is detected, the panel activates alarm signals and sends notifications to the bridge or fire watch. It supports the connection of both intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe devices on the same zones, providing installation flexibility. The panel includes advanced self-diagnosis and fault detection systems to ensure reliability. Additionally, multiple power supply options are available, including emergency power, so the system remains operational even during power outages.
What problems does it solve?
Fire safety on board ships is critical due to limited evacuation options and the high risk of severe damage or loss of life. The Tyco T1216-C offers a robust and reliable fire detection solution suitable for the demanding marine environment. It ensures timely detection and notification of fires, enabling rapid evacuation and firefighting measures. Furthermore, the ability to connect different types of detectors and zones makes the system highly flexible, which is essential for ships with diverse spaces and risks. It minimizes false alarms and guarantees operational continuity under harsh conditions such as vibration, moisture, and corrosion.
