What is it?
The SMC Air Management System AMS20/30/40/60 is a modular solution for managing compressed air, designed to automatically reduce air consumption through pressure reduction and shut-off during idle periods. The system monitors and controls flow, pressure, and temperature, and can be easily integrated into existing installations via industrial protocols such as IO-Link and EtherNet/IP. With wireless connectivity and real-time monitoring, it is ideal for modern industrial environments.
How does it work?
The system operates by switching between different modes: during production, it supplies the required air pressure, while in idle periods it automatically switches to a standby mode with reduced pressure or complete shut-off (isolation mode). This prevents unnecessary air consumption. The Air Management Hub collects data on flow, pressure, and temperature and transmits it to the control system. A self-diagnosis function continuously monitors performance, ensuring quick detection of any faults.
What problems does it solve?
Unnecessary compressed air consumption leads to high energy costs and increased wear on equipment. The AMS system saves up to 62% energy through intelligent pressure control and reduces the load on compressors, pipelines, and pneumatic components. Additionally, it extends the service life of installations and supports predictive maintenance through comprehensive data analysis. This makes the system a sustainable and reliable solution for industries aiming for efficiency and digitalization.
