What is it?
The SMART PFM 107 is an advanced oil-in-water monitor that continuously measures oil content and particulates in water samples using a proprietary photo-optical measuring cell and microscopy-based technology. It’s approved to international standards (MEPC.107(49)) for reliable oil-in-water analysis.
Where is it used?
It is used in marine, offshore, and industrial applications for monitoring discharge streams such as oily water separator outlets, produced water discharge, and drill rig slop tanks, and for meeting regulatory compliance requirements where accurate oil monitoring is essential.
How does it work?
The system draws the process fluid through a detailed optical measuring cell, where a combination of optical recognition algorithms and light intensity analysis differentiates oil particles from gas/air bubbles and solids. Measured oil concentration, pressure, temperature, and alarm status are displayed on a high-resolution touchscreen, with data logged for reporting and download via USB or LAN. Automatic cleaning keeps the optical surfaces clear to maintain accuracy.
